Friday picnics
15, 22 and 29 July - 5 and 12 August
On these 5 Fridays in the middle of summer, Islette will remain open until 9:30 p.m. to offer its visitors the opportunity to have an aperitif or a picnic in the castle grounds or by the river.
So bring your own drinks and food or stock up on provisions at the shop located in the mill. Also discover Nicolas Paget's organic wines from the Azay-le-Rideau appellation (sold by the glass or bottle and to be enjoyed in moderation). Don't forget a tissue and settle down with family or friends for a relaxed and friendly end to the day.
Around 7.30 pm, jazz concert in the garden:
– July 15, 29 and August 12, by the Patrick Filleul Trio with depending on the evening: Robin Schmidlin on guitar, David Salesse on double bass, Louis Guignier on vibraphone, Nicolas Rousserie on guitar, Kevin Gervais on double bass and Patrick Godson on drums. “Our music is jazz, beautiful melodies, known and little-known standards, and always playing with passion and desire and all that for the pleasure of the public.”
- 22 July and 5 August, by the Joshua Perez Trio. Joshua Perez and Léo Watremez on guitar and Thomas Quere, on double bass, follow in the footsteps of Gypsy jazz standards, from Django to Bireli...
The tour of the interior of the castle will end at 19:30.
Usual entry fee (holders of an entry ticket purchased before 7 p.m. can stay for the picnic aperitifs at no extra charge).

Enjoy 5 exceptional evenings to discover the castle and its park after dark and by the light of 1000 candles and to share a picnic with family or friends at the water's edge.
Open without interruption until 11:30 p.m. – The tour of the interior of the castle will end at 9pm.
Vinea Loire Valley, a wine cellar in Azay-le-Rideau, will introduce us to wines from the region.

With singer Jody Stenberg, accompanied by Laurent Marode on piano, David Salesse on double bass and Patrick Filleul on drums.
The meeting of the four members of this group was the starting point of an ambitious and joyful project, immediately marked by a great artistic complicity. The quartet performs a repertoire in tight formation and with chiseled arrangements.

By the Compañia Flamenco Léa Carlosema.
During a musical and dance journey, the artists propose a total immersion in the atmosphere of the traditional "Tablao Flamenco" where the dialogue between music and dance awakens deep, unsuspected and very strong sensations in those who listen and watch.

Within the framework of the nocturnes, L'Islette under the stars, at 9 pm, tango show
By the Tango Promotion association.
Around 8pm, initiation to Argentinean tango for the public, by Carolina Udoviko.
At 9pm, concert and performance of Argentinean tango by Carolina Udoviko (choreography and dance), Emile Gayoso (dance) and Xinqi Hoang (dance).
To close the evening, a small milonga (tango ball) with music by a tango DJ.

Miss Camille Claudel - Play
Saturday June 18, 2022 – 8 p.m.
The show is based on the correspondence and diaries of Camille, Paul Claudel and Rodin, letters written, received and exchanged with each other, as well as letters exchanged with Camille's friends, institutions, the Beaux Arts, the Minister of Fine Arts, art merchants, journalists and art critics.
There is nothing invented or romanticized, the words are those written or received.
A moving, intelligent and beautiful show about Camille Claudel!

Concert of Renaissance music by the Coro Misto da Beira Interior
Directed by Luis Cipriano, this choir of 24 people, dressed in period costumes, accompanied by ancient instruments: percussion, lute, viola da gamba, recorder, will perform exclusively works from the Renaissance (Arbeau, Duffay, Gabrieli, Certon...).
This Portuguese choir, in addition to giving concerts in the main cities of Portugal, has toured the world and has won numerous international prizes and medals.

In my garden… merrily let us sing Concerts by the Jacques Moderne ensemble
Directed by Joël Suhubiette, the Jacques Moderne ensemble invites you this summer to celebrate gardens through Renaissance songs.
Garden rediscovered, nourishing, secret or Eden, evocation of flowers, trees, birds, aromatic plants, vegetables and vines, four singers from the Ensemble, accompanied by the lute, perform works from the repertoire French polyphonic of the Renaissance and popular tradition. A program that is meant to be joyful, festive, comical but also poetic.
Nature and Renaissance, two obvious dimensions at Islette.
Duration of each concert: approximately 1/2 hour.
